“It’s better to be strangers than to live this way” croons the lead singer of The Rebel Light in their new song Strangers. The song has a 1960s happy feel to it with powerful horns.
The Rebel Light consists of Will Steil, Jarrett Steil and Brandon Cooke. The group describes their music on their online pages as indie pop with a retro feel and this is the best way to describe Strangers. The beat is poppy and the lyrics contain sunny images of longing to be more than just strangers.
Strangers has been getting recognition. Jason Bentley played it on Morning Becomes Eclectic. KCRW made Strangers Today’s Top Tune. Strangers was the My Morning Download song of the day on XPN and is getting lots of radio airplay on other stations as well. We recommend you check out The Rebel Light’s music.
The trio, who recently performed at Chinatown Summer Nights, produces and records all their own music. KCRW Today’s Top Tune.
